Sorry to disappoint you, but of course the censuses only note living people and you need the Parish Registers for baptisms, marriages etc. As another Lister had told you, Derby is a long way from Tisbury and although anything is possible I would doubt that this Joseph is the right one The IGI (familysearch) website ( which is where I assume you found Joseph's baptism) doesn't cover all parishes and very few of the villages near Tisbury are recorded. I wonder if the Tisbury baptism you found was a private submission to the IGI site as the Tisbury Registers, as far as I know, aren't recorded there either There are generations of Burtons in the Tisbury area and I have a few attached to my family who lived in and around Donhead St Mary which is just a few miles away. If you have a Family Records Centre near your home I suggest you go there and search the Tisbury Registers and those of the nearby villages. The website http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ will allow you see the Tisbury area. I have never used a Family Record Centre, so I don't know if they loan records out or not. Perhaps someone else can help with that information. If all else fails contact me off list and I can give you the website address of a family 'firm' who specialise in Wiltshire research.
