Further to my previous you appear to have two Jane Mills, one age 6 in 1841 and one born in 1842. Any record of Jane age 6 death? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Harry Tadd" <harry.tadd@ntlworld.com> To: <ENG-WILTSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 06, 2006 12:08 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-WIL] Talbot & Mills families > Bletchingley is a good 100 miles from Corsham and not on a direct route. > That said if he was a navvy or such and had been working say on the Great > Western Railway he might go on to work elsewhere on the railways. > I suggest you need to find other records of him where his place of birth > might be given. Yes, there is a problem with the ages, but having looked high and low for Jane Talbot Mills with no luck for several years, I feel almost certain the 1841 Corsham entry is them. You have to admit - it's a great combination. (1) you have Roger Mills (2) you have Susannah Talbot, (3) a young daughter named Jane, and (4) which I was absolutely not counting on - the grandparents - William and Phillis Talbot! Jane Talbot Mills' death certificate actually says she was born 26 Oct 1837 - so I'm not sure why this Jane is listed as age 6 in the 1841 census. Maybe she was 6 months old and the census taker wrote it as 6 years???? I don't know, but I have sent away for the Espom birth record (found in the Oct 1837 quarter on 1837online for Jane MILLS b. Epsom, Surrey Vol.4 p..63) so maybe I'll know more after I receive that. Thanks again Harry. Keep up the good work. Sherry
