Thanks Harry. It didn't look that far on the map, so I really appreciate your help. 100 miles would be a bit far to travel for work. A while back, a kind lister found what I think might be the death record for Roger Mills, December quarter 1846, District of Dewsbury, vol.22, page 39 and so now I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail any day. If it is his death record, I think I'll then be able to persue a marriage lead for his wife Susannah - under the name Erving, with the little Mills children in the household. But for now, I haven't been able to find William TALBOT (age 55 in 1841 Corsham, Wiltshire census) and his wife Phillis, age 50 in 1841 (but looks like age 60) listed in any of the 1851 censuses. And without a birth county, I'm at a loss as to where I should look. If anyone has time to take a look for them on the 1851, I'd really appreciate it. Or...if anyone happens to spot a death record for him, I'd be happy with that as well. Thanks again for all the help, Sherry Harry wrote, <Bletchingley is a good 100 miles from Corsham and not on a direct route. That said if he was a navvy or such and had been working say on the Great Western Railway he might go on to work elsewhere on the railways. I suggest you need to find other records of him where his place of birth might be given. For instance other censuses or his death certificate.>
