Out of curiousity I then searched for a marriage for Ann DOUGHTY and found a possible marriage to Solomon BARTER in 1851 Warminster. There is then a death reg for a Solomon BARTER in 1854 Warminster. In 1851 Solomon and Ann (24) are living in Sutton Veny - Ann's birthplace is given as Bapton. I don't see a definite entry for her in 1841 but there are certainly DOUGHTYs in Bapton and surrounds. One possibility is in Stockton (seems to be very close to Bapton): Thomas DOUGHTY 62 Ag lab Miriam 68 Mary 30 Ann 16 (could be grandparents?) The marriage certificate reference for John Stephen SNELGROVE is March quarter 1857 Warminster Volume 5a Page 287 - this would confirm whether my theory is pure fantasy or not!! Cheers, Patsy - New Zealand (the marriage reference for Solomon BARTER is March quarter 1851 Warminster Vol 8 P 671)
