Hello; I have just joined this list as I am researching my GGG Grandfather, Peter MACFARLANE (1780-1826), who was a Baptist minister at the Back Street Church in Trowbridge from 1816-1821 and was the first minister of the Bethesda Baptist Chapel in Trowbridge from 1821 -1826 when he died. He was interred under the pulpit of the Bethesda Baptist Chapel on 4th April 1826. I understand that the chapel is now a café in the Shire Mall. I am hoping that someone can tell me the name of the store that is using what was the chapel, and perhaps whether there is still a plaque that marks his grave. Perhaps someone might enjoy a bit of fun asking the current proprietor where the body of Peter MacFarlane is. Also, would anyone have an old drawing of either/both of the Churches?
