Hi Eliz, Thank you so much for checking on William TALBOT's family in the 1851 census. If this is my Jane Talbot MILLS living with the Lidderdale family, it sure puts an interesting spin on things. Source information: HO107/1686, Hungerford, Kintbury, ED 3b, Folio: 197, Page: 5 James Lidderdale abt 1815 Thatcham, Berkshire, England Head Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, General Practioner and Member of Royal College of Surgeons Elizth Cuine Lidderdale abt 1820 Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, Engl. Wife Great Bedwyn Wiltshire Ann Lidderdale abt 1848 Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England Daughter Great Bedwyn Wiltshire James Lidderdale abt 1850 Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, England Son Great Bedwyn Wiltshire Jane Talbot abt 1835 Shalbourn, Wiltshire, England Servant Great Bedwyn Wiltshire Sarah Hillier abt 1831 Lambourn, Berkshire, England Servant Great Bedwyn Wiltshire Someone on another list has suggested perhaps Roger MILLS died young and Susanna TALBOT married William EVING as listed in the 1851 Drighlington census. (considering the ages - the children must be step-children, not sons and daughter in-laws) 1851 Ancestry William Eving abt 1805 Kilsby, Northamptonshire, England Head Drighlington Yorkshire Susanna Eving abt 1817 Kilsby, Northamptonshire, England Wife Drighlington Yorkshire George Henry Mills abt 1845 Tunbridge Son-in-law Drighlington Yorkshire Jane Mills abt 1842 Ashford, Kent, England Daughter-in-law Drighlington Yorkshire Sarah Ann Temina Mills abt 1844 Ashford, Kent, England Daughter-in-law Drighlington As you can see, by the 1861 census below, Susannah is listed as Ervens and Jane is Millens Susannah Ervens abt 1817 Northampton, Nottinghamshire, England Head Drighlington Yorkshire George H Millens abt 1845 Kent, England Son Drighlington Yorkshire Jane Millens abt 1842 Kent, England Daughter Drighlington Yorkshire Then by 1871 Susannah is listed in the Drighlington census as EVANS and Jane Talbot MILLS has married my ggg grandfather, Henry HUNTINGTON from Drighlington. Boy, they sure don't make this easy, do they? I will have to see if I can find death records for William TALBOT from Wiltshire (and his wife) and go from there. Thank you again so much for looking for William and his family. I keep tellling myself I need to keep an open mind - and consider all possibilities, but it sure gets confusing with all the name changes and moving around these people do! Best regards, Sherry Shallenberger
