    3. Hi, l have recently discovered a link to a PAINE/PAYNE family from the Warminster area and wondered if anyone could kindly throw some light on the following Lucy Paine b c1817 Warminster There is an entry for the above on the IGI but it is a submitted record and l wanted to confirm the details? The only other info l have on Lucy is that she married William GILES in 1835 in Warminster. Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards Robert

    3. Robert, A distant aunt of mine, Jane MARSHMAN, when aged about 43, married a Jeremiah PAYNE, at Warminster, in 1789. Jeremiah lived at Warminster common, and is mentioned in the book "Warminster Common", 1850 by William Daniel. Jeremiah was both blind and pious. To my knowledge they had no children, so would not be a forebear of yours. I have only seen an extract of the book, but it is an interesting insight into life on the Common. Eric Marshman NSW.
