Hello Everybody, In answer to the query from Bruce I have looked at a newspaper index website and it appears that on Monday 26th September, 1825, George and Edward Billett were taken from Fisherton Jail, which is in Salisbury, to Portsmouth where they were put on the hulk Leviathan. They had originally been sentenced to death for stealing a mare but the sentence was commuted to transportation for life. The two men were brothers and it appears they were from North Wraxall in Somerset. I hope this information is of assistance. Rod Whale, Andover, Hampshire. -----Original Message----- From: Bruce Johnston [mailto:brucejohnston@optusnet.com.au] Sent: 29 August 2006 07:19 To: ENG-WILTSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-WIL] BILLETT IN WILTSHIRE - Roll Call Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
