My ggg grandfather was appointed a gamekeeper, for Coombe Bisset, in 1783 and again in 1793. The information I have records that he was appointed by ³Common Seal of Warden and Scholars of St Mary¹s College, Winchester². Would anyone be able to explain why he was appointed for Coombe Bisset by the Warden etc of St Mary¹s college Winchester? Many thanks Philippa Garnsey Sydney
