Looking at the information on the site it looks as though a good percentage of the men, some 14% of workers, came from the North East to help set up the new industry. It also seems that a lot of the men stayed there to whereas John returned to the North East before heading back off on further travels throughout England a Scotland. Kindest Regards Brian
