The oldest info I could find was an Emma Lye who had an inventory of goods and chattels to the value of £385 -7s-4d on the 17th October 1636 wife of the late William Lye. Also its says she is seised for the term of the lives of Grace Murfoote, wife of Walter Murfoote, and Margaret Hood, of the four rother beasts leaze in Lttleton Purnell, of the clear yearly value of £3- 10s.
