Hi, Bev So great to hear from you and many many thanks for the Crocker 1841 image. Yes it is the couple I am searching for - I don't know how you managed to find it - I must be going blind (or my powers of logic are wearing thin) in my old age!!! Sadly no children though. There are none in 1851 when they were in Hound and Lydia appears to be a widow in 1861. So I'm still no nearer trying to explain why their niece and husband should go down to Hound in the 1870's (if she was niece!!!) before returning to Bruton in the 1880's. Witnesses at the 1834 marriage might help but being before 1837 there won't be any parents names. Yes, its a while since I was on the B & S. list although I occasionally browse the archive to see what is being discussed. That and the other Bristol list still seem to be about the busiest lists in these yer parts. Anyway, Seasons Greetings to you and yours - don't spend too much time doing research during the Festive break..... Found a couple in Southampton in 1841, John and Lydia Cocker, both from out of county at 19 Canal Walk, St Mary, Southampton. He was a shoemaker and the ages for both were rounded to 25. Will send you a copy off list. I think I might owe you a few favours from the Bristol & Somerset list! Cheers Bev
