Have you searched for Hester? I was going to search Ancestry but it seems to be down, the search anyway. But I have a bunch of women whose proper first name I don't know, they get enumerated as Hester in one census and Esther (of many spellings) in others. Hi there - further to Martin's message, in 1871 the family is in North Bradley, enumerated as SHEPMAILL North Bradley, Yarnbrooks Joseph SHEPMAILL 29 Wool Dyer in Dyehouse. B Trowbridge Ellen 26. B West Ashton. Hester 8 Mary Ann 6 Frank 1 All children listed as born North Bradley. >From earlier censuses Joseph is the son of Joseph and Mary Ann SHRAPNELL, living in Trowbridge. FreeBMD has a probable marriage in 1862 to Eleanor BISHOP and for the father in 1844 a marriage to Mary Ann NORRIS. Ellen appears to be the daughter of John and Ellen of West Ashton.
