Hi Liz, I have had a quick look around, it is not in Bradford on Avon its in a village near called Limpley Stoke and was called either Bath or Limpley Stoke Reformatory School for girls. It was Certified on the 11 Jan 1861 and an outbreak of Diphtheria in Autumn 1895 precipitated its closure. I have had a look on a 1900 map and its not there as a School. It was the Dower House and is now the Manor House and it was used as a Reformatory school for delinquent girls under the age of 15 years between 1861 and 1895, your Sarah must have been there at least 3 years, It also brought up a question in the Houses of Parliament as if the education there was improving. A reformatory school was for young offenders to reform their way, I do not know if this was ever successful. I have found two candidates for her in the 1871 census a Sarah Lodge who was born in 1863 in Bilston Staffordshire or a Sarah Laight who was born 1863 in Worcester.
