I don't have any information on the Robert PRIOR in question, but I do have a small tree of a PRIOR family who lived at Brokenborough that might be useful to those looking for PRIORS around Malmesbury. But first some background. I got interested in PRIOR at Brokenborough because John HANDY of Rodbourne left £5 to William PRIOR of Brokenborough in his 1788 will. Eventually I discovered that that John Handy was the grandson of William PRIOR, an eccentric rector of Elkstone in Glocs. I think the William PRIOR of Brokenborough was another grandson of the rector, being the son of the rector's son John PRIOR and his wife Mary HANDY (also of the Rodbourne family). I see Daphne Guthrie has suggested that a Sarah TANDY might actually be a Sarah HANDY. An interesting idea, but I don't have a suitable Sarah in my HANDY tree.
