Hello Listers, >From an artefact of an old business card I believe my cousin Samuel DAVIS (1855-1931) was at one time the 'boss' at the Neston Glove Factory. The card is undated, but includes the telephone number Corsham 58. I was wondering whether any lister has information on this place of employment. The only real information I have is that it was originally known as "Davis, May & Co" and first appeared in Kelly's Directory in 1911; and changed name sometime between then and 1919, to The Neston Glove Factory. Regards, Jenny

My great aunt who grew up in Corsham was sent to work in a glover's but ran off and eventually became the postmistress for Neston. I wonder if that was the works she was supposed to toil in? -- Paul Beard / www.paulbeard.org/ <paulbeard.org>
