Hallo Henk, I have John WILTSHIRE and Mary YATES in my FERRIS tree. Can't give you a birthday but he was bap. in Urchfont, 15 Feb 1755 so seems to be the one you mention. His parents were Robert WILTSHIRE & Eleanor RUDDLE (my connection). They were married in Urchfont, 10 Apr 1748. He was the only boy of 7 children. Hallo Terry thanks for your speedy answer and it looks I'm on the right track but have you any proof that John is the right person. I do believe you but I been many times let on the garden path to nowhere. If he is the right person then I will be looking for the Parents of Robert. I have dozens of names of people baptized or married around 1650 - 1750 but no mention of the parents of Robert. Can you help? Hi Henk, All the baptism info on your WILTSHIREs came from the original PRs by way of a transcription of them by the Wiltshire Family History Society. The marriage of Robert and Eleanor, I find I can't prove at the moment. I will try and find out though. In Urchfont, there is no suitable baptism for Robert ( one was baptized in 1744, would he have married at 11?). However in the PRs of Stert which abuts Urchfont to the north there is this baptismal entry: 1715, Jul 24, WILTSHIER, Robert, s of Thomas & Susanna at Crooks Hill. Would you like Johns' sisters and his children's info?
