Hi Jenny - not sure I have seen a response to your query so just in case, this may be the family in 1901: Atworth, Wiltshire Daniel DAVIS 42 Gamekeeper. B Fresham/Fincham?, Surrey Mary Ann 42 B Corsham Samuel 24 B Corsham. Gamekeeper Victor 18 B Bradford. Gamekeeper Elsie 13 B Atworth Eveline12 B Atworth Hugh 9 B Atworth In 1891 Daniel's wife is listed as Selina aged 32 born in Corshamside. I haven't been able to find Mary Ann in 1891 but it seems Selina died in Mar quarter 1892 so they didn't waste time! There is a reg for Hugh Daniel DAVIS, Bradford Jun Q 1891 so your supposition could well be right about the father.. Hope this helps.
