    3. Hi Sharon, If you know which area of Wiltshire your James ARNOLD was born in, there are three Yahoo! Groups you might want to look into. One is NorthWiltshire, the second WestWiltshire and the third SouthWiltshire. You can find these by searching the Yahoo! Groups List Index. Usually in a Will the estate is granted to the Executors and sometimes goes on to give directions to the Executors. Most of the Wills I have copies of have a notation of the Probate or Administration on it, which I suspect is the document you need to follow up what happened to the estate. If there is such a notation, a search at the National Archives site AtoA would be the place to look. I'm not sure why you would want parish registers as they have nothing to do with Wills & Estates, but some of the transcriptions are uploaded at the Yahoo! Groups that I mentioned. When you say 'both Wills' are they both dated the same date? If so, then one is a copy as in those days all copies were made by hand. If not, it is probably the later one that would have been acted on. You don't say when James ARNOLD was married or when he died. I suspect this is where the parish registers will come in, although if he died after September 1837 his death should be on FreeBMD. Hope this has been helpful. Although there are ten pages of legal writings in these documents which is repeated over and over the only redeemable genealogy information is that his wife's name was Mary Arnold and she is a co executor of the will along with some trustees. Where would I find the distribution of the estate? or any other documents relating to the content of the estate and who received what? In USA this information is part of the estate settlement. Is there such a thing in England? Since there is nothing in the will to help me then my next step would be to order parish records from some group in Wiltshire to continue my research? thank you in advance for your assistance with these questions Sharon M.
