I am seeking to make contact, and to share LAWRENCE family history notes, with any relation or researcher of the family of my cousin, Richard LAWRENCE. Richard LAWRENCE, son of James and Kezia LAWRENCE, yeoman of Hilmarton, Wilts, was baptized in Hilmarton on January 24th., 1821. Richard married Mary FERRIS in Christian Malford, Wilts, on October 27th., 1840 (I.G.I. submitted). At the 1841 census, Richard was living in the Duke of York Public House, Malmesbury, Wilts, with his wife Mary and daughter Mary; by the 1851 census, Richard 28 was a Police Constable in Wroughton, Wilts, living with Mary 30, Mary 11, Elizabeth 8, William 6 and Charles 2; in the 1861 census, Richard 39, railway labour, and Mary 40 were in Swindon, at Eascott Lane in York Place, with William 16, Charles 10? and Fanny 5; for the 1871 census, Richard 48 was a general servant, living at the Avonmouth Hotel in Westbury upon Trym, with Mary 49. Richard and Mary had issue: A] Mary Jane LAWRENCE, baptized in Hilmarton on December 13th., 1840; B] Elizabeth LAWRENCE, born about 1842 in Upton Scudamore, Wilts; C] William Henry LAWRENCE, baptized in Hilmarton on March 19th., 1845. At the 1861 census, William 16, boiler smith, lived with his parents in Swindon. William married Martha H. BETTY, on July 9th., 1867 in Neyland parish church in Pembroke - she had been born in Bath about 1848. In the 1881 census, his name was spelt Laurence; in Swindon for the 1891 census. William and Martha had issue. D] Charles James LAWRENCE, baptized on October 6th., 1849 in Wroughton, Wilts. At the 1861 census, Charles 10 was a railway labourer, living with his parents in Swindon. In 1887, in Hampshire, he married Elizabeth Helen HORN; Charles and Elizabeth lived in Exbury, Hants, and in Wilts. At the 1891 census, they were in Bradford, Wilts; by the 1901 census they were living in Bradford-upon-Avon. They had issue. E] Fanny LAWRENCE, born in Castle Eaton, Wilts, baptized on April 20th., 1851 in Wroughton, Wilts (I.G.I. submitted).
