    3. Many thanks Val & Harry for your reply. Harry, may I be awkward and ask for a grid reference for Bearfield so I may locate it reasonably accurately? I have found an 1808 map on the Bradford on Avon website which shows "Berfield" and also "White Hill" which is mentioned on the census. I guess Bearfield or Bearfield disappeared as it became integrated with the rest of Bradford on Avon? I have the following 1861 Census page Image so I know it is correct: Parish [or Township] of Bradley Hamlet or Tything &c, of Cumberland Ecclesiastical District of Christchurch George WALTON.....Wilts Bearfield Ruth WALTON.........Wilts Cumberland etc and the address is Cumberland (no street name given) In succeeding census the Parish is Bradford and the Ecclesiastical District Christchurch but no Hamlet given although the address is "Hill Corner" in 1871 although this may be in a different part of Bradford on Avon. I guess I will have to look at the census for the area for each year and try and delineate the Hamlet of Cumberland by cross-referencing the enumerator's walk and families in each census year. many thanks Wyndham on a cold Narrowboat in the Midlands

    3. Sorry I am using a road map so no co-ordinates. However I think Robert's reply gives you what you need.
