Thomas Stagg (1825-1871) m Julia Lambell - MOVED TO LONDON in 1840s Any connections? Would you know anything more on your William or if any of the other surnames fit your family. My Stagg family had a paddock in the Savernack Forest I was very lucky as they appeared in a written work in the 1950 which I was sent a copy of and then on researching the settlement papers I located them with the help of a minister. Another two areas that are possibilty's are Burbage and Milton Lilborne where Eliza Faith, William's daughter ran in later years a public house named the "Three Horseshoes" on the Milton Rd. Eliza had three marriages 1st John Bristow Stagg, 2nd to Thomas Tucker, 3rd Alfred Gilford. Perhpas you have come across these details in you research one other strange fact is William and Eliza Watts daughter bears the name Betsy Wells Watts. Hope you find a connection. 1. Re: [ENG-WILTSHIRE] SURNAMES in subject line please

    3. Hi Listers and a happy new year. Please can we have *specific* surnames in the SUBJECT LINE as I have also missed useful information because the subject line used had little resemblance to some of the content of information or query. Only when I've searched or browsed the Wiltshire archives looking for something else, have I picked up some earlier information that had been deleted as *no interest*. It also helps in returning information to others who might benefit. For those of us who get MANY emails daily, the SUBJECT LINE is extremely important. Kind wishes Sandra Auckland New Zealand Joining this one late (missed the STAGG bit before, only read Subject line > and first couple of sentences) >>>snip>>> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Gee" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>

    3. Donna, The John Stagg who married Mary Rutt is an ancestor of mine. They had eight children between 1772 and 1788. I also have data on their ancestors for two generations back. The whole tree is available on Genes Reunited, if you have access to that. I only know what happened to three of the eight children, so would appreciate any data that you have.
