    3. I'm sorry, but until absolutely proven otherwise, I'm on Annie's side and I do think she married John Pilling. I have some ideas listed below that I hope might help you. These are only ideas and you may come up with something better! Just brainstorming here! Is it possible that Annie [and maybe John too] married someone else before they married each other about 1874 before Edith was born and they were both almost 30 years old? In FreeBMD there are these 2 possibilities for a first marriage for Annie Kershaw [the 1865 marriage looks most promising]: Marriages Dec 1865 (>99%) Kershaw Annie Manchester 8d 399 Marriages Mar 1869 (>99%) Kershaw Annie Manchester 8d 611 Marriages Dec 1865 (>99%) Kershaw Annie Manchester 8d 399 RICHARDS John Manchester 8d 399 Riley Ellen Manchester 8d 399 Robinson Thomas Manchester 8d 399 Wilkinson Harriet Manchester 8d 399 Could this be the marriage for Annie and John [granted the middle name and initial are a concern]? Marriages Jun 1874 (>99%) King James Manchester 8d 540 McLean Eleanor Manchester 8d 540 Pilling John Henry F Manchester 8d 540 Robinson Annie Manchester 8d 540 I do have to admit that knowing she was born in Swindon, Wilts, hasn't been much help, however it's hard to ignore, when it was included in 2 census records. Maybe Annie was base-born and her birth was reported with her mother's maiden name but she took her step-father's surname [which was not at all uncommon]? In searching for your Annie, there can always be a transcription error and her name could be misspelled Kenshaw, or Renshaw and we already know it has been misspelled KerSlaw! Good Luck in your search for your Annie! Peggy
