My 5x great-grandparents, Anthony GREEN and Elizabeth KING, were married on 26th. August 1787 at Heddington, Wiltshire. Their daughter, Mary, was baptized on 13th. January 1788 at Heddington. Mother's name was recorded as Betty. Anthony GREEN, Elizabeth, his wife, and Mary, their daughter, aged about one and a half, were removed from Heddington, Wiltshire, to Bitton, Gloucestershire on 5th. May 1789. Anthony GREEN and his wife, Betty, had children baptized at St. Mary's Church Bitton, Gloucestershire. Their daughter, Elizabeth, was baptized on 24th. November 1789. There is another entry for the baptism of an Elizabeth on 24th. February 1793. It looks like aged 5 years is next to her name in the register. William was also baptized on 24th. February 1793. It appears that the first Mary died as there was a burial for a Mary GREEN on 29th. March 1790. (There are no indications in the Bitton register, at this time, of infant burials.) Another daughter named Mary was baptized on 8th. June 1794. Maria was baptized on 17th. September 1797, aged 5 months. Charles was baptized on 1st. June 1800. Moses was baptized on 28th. May 1803. John was baptized on 10th. June 1810 aged 5 years. Anthony GREEN was buried on 2nd. July 1809 at Bitton. No age was given in the burial record. Betty GREEN, aged 83, was buried on 28th. June 1848 at Bitton, but I don't know if this was my Betty GREEN. I haven't been able to find a baptism for Anthony GREEN in Bitton, GLS and I don't know anything about Elizabeth KING before her marriage. If no one has any links to this couple now, I'm hoping that someone may pick up this message in the Eng-Wiltshire archives, later. Josephine -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
