Some of my ancestors lived in Hilcott - 1841 and 1851 censuses. They were farmers but the Hilcott is still a very small place, so it was probably a hamlet. I should think that it was too small to have a church, so weddings, funerals and baptisms were probably conducted at a nearby village or town. Bottlesford is nearer than Pewsey but still isn't very big. Google maps shows it as Hilcott, Pewsey, Wiltshire. Unfortunately, I've never looked for any other information on Hilcott.
