D. 853-1946 by Arnold Platts M.A. Ph.D. is still in copyright so I can't share the maps and illustrations. It's a pity because they are very clear. The cover shows the Old Town Hall and the frontispiece is the Coat of Arms of the Borough Of Chippenham. The black-and-white illustrations include The Buttery and the Shambles, The Town Bridge and High Street, "Bell Inn", Market Place and Chippenham Station, 1850. The air view is Westinghouse Brake & Signal Co. Ltd. I do share other finds, but they have to be from the 18th and 19th centuries and well out of copyright.
