Hi all, Can some SKS help me track down or point me to were I need to look for were my GGrand Mother Julia LONG, Nee EVENS, born July 1837, my Uncle has her dieing sometime in 1900 and buried at the Swindon Cemetery, Wiltshire, No 113 Section C. I have rang a couple of Cemetery's but have not been able to find her, all her children were Christened at St Marks who I have also rang. Also my GGrand Father Thomas Walter LONG, I have found him in the 1891 census living at 27 Westcott Place, New Swindon, but can not find him in the 1901 census, he would have been 63, but not one of the census from 1851 - 91 was his birth year the same, he was born in July 1838, he may have died and also buried with Julia. Cheers from Brisbane, Australia, Pete

Hello Everyone My gt gt grandfather was William Bailey and he says on the 1851 census that he was born at Wilcot, circa 1805. He married Mary Davy at Burlescombe in Devon on 23 Nov 1830. I believe his father also to be called William Bailey as he is living in the next parish to William Bailey jnr on the 1851 census and also says he was born at Wilcot married to Amelia giving his age as 68. I would be grateful for any further info on this family as I feel there nust be some more children born either at Wilcot or Holcombe Rogus,Devon. Is there anyone with the 1851 census for the Wilcot area which shows any Bailey family still living there. Or would love to be in touch with anyone else researching this family at Wilcot,Wilts. TIA Jenny Mische

Hello; I have just joined this list as I am researching my GGG Grandfather, Peter MACFARLANE (1780-1826), who was a Baptist minister at the Back Street Church in Trowbridge from 1816-1821 and was the first minister of the Bethesda Baptist Chapel in Trowbridge from 1821 -1826 when he died. He was interred under the pulpit of the Bethesda Baptist Chapel on 4th April 1826. I understand that the chapel is now a café in the Shire Mall. I am hoping that someone can tell me the name of the store that is using what was the chapel, and perhaps whether there is still a plaque that marks his grave. Perhaps someone might enjoy a bit of fun asking the current proprietor where the body of Peter MacFarlane is. Also, would anyone have an old drawing of either/both of the Churches? I would appreciate any information. Thank you Keith Collingwood Orlando, FL U.S.A.

Hi, l have recently discovered a link to a PAINE/PAYNE family from the Warminster area and wondered if anyone could kindly throw some light on the following Lucy Paine b c1817 Warminster There is an entry for the above on the IGI but it is a submitted record and l wanted to confirm the details? The only other info l have on Lucy is that she married William GILES in 1835 in Warminster. Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards Robert
