    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: JONES, GOLD,(GOULD) Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/EUC.2ACI/3130 Message Board Post: Hello all I haven't been on this message board for ages, but I am still searching for my gr.grandmother who was born in Corsham Wiltshire abt 1848 her name was Elizabeth Jane Jones, father was Isaac Jones according to her wedding certificate in 1872 and at that time he was a railway worker. With the surname it is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but if anyone has access to 1851 census and can find Isaac Jones with an Elizabeth Jane as his daughter, I would love to know who her mother was. Hopefully someone maybe able to help Thanks in advance

    3. Val Just took a look at this and was non-plussed by an apparent Motorway from Westbury to Frome and some more similar looking roads. Then I realised they are the proposed Railway Lines. At the date of this map the railway stopped at Westbury. Jim Val Burge <valburge@dodo.com.au> wrote: Lewis's 1840 Map of England and Wales is brilliant. 3. To add a little to the M O W thread, there is or was available for sale at http://www.redbreast.co.uk/nimrod/, which is the Nimrod Wiltshire Index site, a Wiltshire parish map. It depicted the county boundary and the outline of the parishes and their names within. Nothing else. It was produced at A3 size and cost around a pound then. Over the years I've found it invaluable Terry Basting

    3. Hello Gordon There are two online maps which my serve your needs http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ is a modern map which will zoom in to give street names. (The zoom facility is on the bottom right corner of the map).County boundaries are shown by a grey broken line http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ will give you maps mostly from the 19th century. I don't think county boundaries are marked, but if you have already found that information on the Streetmap site these maps will give you a picture of villages etc before the modern sprawl of towns had swallowed them. Hope these help Best wishes, Dot On 27/6/06 10:33, "Gordon Osmond" <gordon_artist@bigpond.com> wrote: > Is there an online map showing details of small villages in Wiltshire? I have is Nicholas Stephens of Bouldthorpe, Wiltshire, England, b. c.1560. I have Dorothy's birth date as Dec 16, 1582 in Steventon, Berkshire, England or c.1580 in Bouldthorpe, Wiltshire, England.
