    3. Good Afternoon All, I am wondering if the Holy Cross Church at Wilcot has a burial ground attached to it. If so, would there be headstones and are inscriptions available. I am looking for the burial of Maurice Hillier GOODMAN who died 1st quarter 1856. Many thanks. Anne H. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. 3. Hi Sue, I have noticed 3 NEW families around the area of Swindon/Stratton/Wanborough in the 1891 census that I'm transcribing, not from Liddington though. Mind you, Liddington is very close to those other places. Do you want some information about them? 3. Hi Anne, Go to http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/ , register as a new user, and type just Maurice GOODMAN in the search box, you will then get all the hits for him (and some that are not for him), including the ones where he is listed as Maurice Hiller or Hiler GOODMAN. It only costs a few pence to access the full information. The memorial inscriptions cost 6 pence each. At this same site are ALL of the memorial inscriptions for Wiltshire, which were recorded by the Wiltshire Family History Society, including non-conformist burial grounds. Intriguingly, there are also two marriage licence bonds for a Maurice Hiler/Hiller GOODMAN. Again ALL of the Sarum (Salisbury) Diocese Marriage Licence Bonds are on this site. The Sarum Diocese covered most of Wiltshire, most of Berkshire, parts of Dorset and a small area in Devon. These bonds cost 8 pence each to access. Maurice is also mentioned in two Wiltshire 'strays' entries (5 pence each) and one Wiltshire Quarter Session Calendars entry (6 pence). It's a good idea to visit this site now and again to see what new records for Wiltshire, and for every other county, have been added. 3. Anne I had the same problem with Fyfield. Just as an aside, I found my Stagg forebears listed in the 1861 census in Rotherhithe, South London as originating from Five Fields, Wiltshire. A case of the enumerator trying to make sense of an unfamiliar accent I would guess. I found them eventually in Fyfield, near Milton Lilbourne. 3. Im not sure exactly of the areas you are researching but as its connected with the PYKEs assume Wilt. The films from Family Search Catalogue are available at any Latter Day Sts church Family research room. If I remember correctly on the Family Search International site there is a list of where all the centres are. To find the no of the film go to the "Family Search Int" web site, click on "catalogue" tab and then enter your county and country. I take it you are not NZ based. In NZ there is a small charge for hiring the films for a term of usually 4 weeks. The Wilt Fam. Hist society fiche which I borrowed came from local libraries NZ Soc of Genealogists and the Kent Fam HS NZ br fiche library. But there is a lot of "stuff" on the Wilt FHS web site. The local ones for just return postage. The book I mentioned is my own and unfortunately now out of print. I am happy to look up any other names connected with Gt Som if of interest to you. 1. 1861 Census - Goodman
    2. Anne Hanson
    3. Good Afternoon List, I am looking for an 1861 census entry for Edward GOODMAN christened Fyfield by Marlborough 18 Jul 1816 and his wife, Maria born abt. 1829. I believe Maria died aged 37 Pewsey 1866. At this stage, I believe Edward & Maria had 4 children in Victoria, Australia between 1847 & 1853 but I do not know how many of the children returned to Wiltshire when Edward inherited Oare House from his uncle Rev'd M.H. Goodman (I don't know what the letters M.H. stand for). The four children were: Charles Hiller born 1847 Cath Maria born 1849 Alice Louisa born 1850 Herbert John born abt. 1853 I understand that Edward & Maria GOODMAN returned to Wiltshire between 1855 & 1861. I do hope someone can help me - many thanks. Anne Hanson Beechworth, Vic. Aust. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. 3. I've just stumbled across an interesting example of this - Corsley baptisms for females only. There are 911 entries, many names familiar from lists I'm on around the West Wiltshire, North Eastern Somerset areas. There are no details of the submitter, only the Batch number C013941. They are great to browse, by putting just the batch number and 'British Isles' in the search form on the IGI. It's not a full list of Corsley female baptisms, as there are no WHEELER's and I know some were born in Corsley.... we mustn't have had a member of the LDS church unite their ancestors forever by a covenant!
