    3. Another place you can see the parish registers is at your local LDS Family History Centre - you can find where this is on the www.familysearch.org site, which also has lists of all the records they have filmed. Kingston Deverill PRs available are as follows:- Title Parish registers, 1706-1982 Authors Church of England. Parish Church of Deverill-Kingston (Main Author) Notes Microfilm of original records in the Wiltshire County Record Office, Trowbridge. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes general register (baptisms, marriages, burials) 1706-1753; baptisms and burials 1754-1812; baptisms 1813-1981; marriages and banns 1793-1812; marriages 1813-1929; and burials 1813-1982. 3. Hi Kathleen.. Are you aware there are two Collingbournes - Collingbourne Kingston and Collingbourne Ducis? Although they are very close together they are separate parishes. I have done a great deal of work on the records of both parishes and have made several extracts in the period 1825/27, finding them easy to search. You will find them on LDS film No. 1279366. Collingbourne Ducis for that period is in Vol. 665-9 and Collingbourne Kingston is Vol. 666-7. They are also available on the fiche records of the parish registers. Perhaps someone with the fiche could look them up for you. 3. Hello, I'm looking for any info re James Morley born about 1800 and also his daughter Martina born Hilperton about 1824/5. (Mother believed to be Sarah) I mistakenly searched for them in London where they eventually ended up and in that error I even claimed someone else's children as my own. I eventually (after several years) realised my mistake and now I'm back to square one. Ho Hum, the joy of family research. I will be so grateful for any spark of info Sylvia ps I've just found on Family history online the marriage of a James Morley Aug 13 1808 residing at Hilperton Bride Sarah Shrapnell (no age) residing Hilperton, This sounds promising and that means James would have been born in late 1700s, but I'm being extra careful this time. If anyone can add anything to this it would be wonderful also Martina's name has been written many ways ie Montena.

    2. Hi Kathleen, I've just searched the original Parish Register entries for Collingbourne Kingston and Collingbourne Ducis and the only entry for an Anne Smith in either parish, from 1823 through 1830 is: BAPTISMS solemnized in the Parish of Collingbourne Kingston in the County of Wilts in the Year 1826 When Baptized. = Baseborn, Nov 19 Child's Christian Name. = Anne Baker Parent's Name. = Anne Smith Abode. = this Parish Quality, Trade, or Profession. = [there is none because there is NO FATHER listed] By whom the Ceremony was performed. = H. 3. Hello Rod Thanks for your interest. I actually have already found the four burials you mention, as I trawled the Figheldean PRs on film - but what I'm trying to ascertain is who else might be buried in the same family plot, in particular with the James Batchelor who was buried in 1836. I am fairly sure he was the son of William and Esther (nee Burden) but am looking for absolute proof before adding this branch to the family records! Thanks again for looking them up. There may have been others who had died, emigrated or got lost in the 'creative' indexing of the census Do you have any other information which would help to narrow the field, such as whether he was married in England, when he emigrated etc. Dot John Adlam's first child was born in Kingston, Ontario in 1834, so he probably emigrated by 1830 and married shortly after (so any John Adlams in the 1841 census cannot be him).
