    3. Hi Vicki, Many thanks for that helpful lead to the transcripts of the PR for Maiden Bradley. I did, once, get that film through the Mormons. That was for only one month and the film is now back in Salt Lake City. However, there are always new needs and re-checking. Much grateful to you! Best wishes. Peter Ferreira. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicki Danielson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 08, 2008 8:20 PM Subject: Re: [ENG-WILTSHIRE] William RUMSEY (1756 - 1797) of Maiden Bradley,Wilts, England >I just helped transcribe Maiden Bradley marriages. 3. Hello Martin Thank you for your reply. The family you have listed are "our" family, and I'm trying to find parents for our John who was born ca 1800. 3. Hi Jenny, Without a parish in Wiltshire, or at least a town name, it is going to be very difficult to find your people. I did a quick search for children of this couple in Wiltshire on the IGI but there were no entries. There were the baptisms of a John LEWINGTON 1 Jan 1769 Ramsbury, Wiltshire, parents John & Elizabeth LEWINGTON (IGI Submission) and John LEWINGTON baptised 24 Dec 1786 Ramsbury, Wiltshire, mother Elizabeth LEWINGTON (IGI Extraction). The fact that there is only a mother usually means that the child is baseborn. But I don't think it can be this John as he would have only been 10 at marriage in 1796. It may be the first one though. These are the only two on the IGI. Let me know if you think John & Suzanne may have been from Ramsbury and I will look for them in the 1841 Census. Hi Charani, Found this on Familysearch: Charlotte Mathews, baptised 02.01.1814, daughter of William Mathews and Elizabeth, at Mere, Wiltshire also Harriet Mathews, 13.03.1819, daughter of above at Christian Malford, Wilts. It also lists a marriage between Charotte Mathews and Edwin Maler, on 21 June 1840, at Horfield, Bristol. The source of this entry is not given but is not accredited to a member entry. Bev

    3. I'm looking for the baptism (and parents) of Charlotte MATTHEWS but she's not being a very helpful young lady!! She married Edwin MAULER in 1840 in the Clifton registration district (marriage cert on order to confirm) She is given as not born in county in 1841; born in Bath, Wiltshire in 1851; in Wiltshire in 1861 (no place name); in Mere in 1881 and in Zeals in 1891. According to the various censuses she was born in either 1814 or 1815 but when she died in November 1898 she was said to be 85, giving her year of birth as 1813. The above is all I know about her, which isn't a great deal given how common her surname is. Are there any online resources available that I could check, please? I won't be able to get to the record office any time soon and there's no LDS FHC within easy reach of where I live. Does anyone have her in their tree? Any assistance would be much appreciated. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
