At Wigton, on the 30th ult., Mr. James BROADFOOT, aged 65, for a length of time captain of the Mercury, one of the Whitehaven and Glasgow Traders. At Keswick, on Thursday last, Miss D. MAYSON, many years cook at Lord William GORDON's, Water End Bay, near that town, aged 78 years. At Cockermouth, on Wednesday last, Mr. Robert THURSBY, weaver, aged 68 years; on Sunday, the 4th inst., Miss Elizabeth GORE, aged 18 years; on Monday, Charlotte, relict of Mr. John PARKER, formerly of the Punch Bowl inn, Great Broughton, near Cockermouth, aged 73 years. At Workington, since our last, Mrs. Frances GREENER, wife of Mr. P. GREENER, aged 74 years; and William Curwen, son of the late Mr. Wm. Robert LORAINE, of Parton. At Whitehaven, last week, Mrs. Elizabeth CUNNINGHAM, widow, aged 52 years. At the Preston Quarter Workhouse, Mr. Wm. BONE, aged 80 years. At St. Bees, on the 30th Sept., Frances, relict of the Rev. John SMITH, M.A., perpetual curate of Ponsonby, and vicar of Millom, aged 65 years. At Cragg, near Ulverston, on the 26th ult., Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. Leonard LAMB, farmer, aged 20 years. At his residence, Woodhouse, near Halifax, on the 3rd inst., Captain ATHERTON, late of her Majesty's 6th Royal Regiment, and magistrate of the West Riding of Yorkshire. At Northallerton, on Tuesday the 23rd ult., after a short illness, aged 78, Mr. Thomas GAMBLE, hairdresser, and eminent forensic wig maker. For a period of 18 years (during his youngest days), he accompanied the learned judges and lawyers the whole round of the Northern Circuit, every year, as their wig dresser. At Birfield, Yorkshire, the lady of Colonel WILLOUGHBY. Mrs. WILLOUGHBY was a daughter of the late Archdeacon EYRE. On the 30th ult., in his 68th year, Mr. James PATE, of the Red Lion Inn, Burnley. The deceased, as an innkeeper, had taken out no fewer than 45 licenses, and has also been a carrier betwixt Manchester and Burnley nearly 40 years. At the Holt, St. Alban's on Friday, the 26th September, Jon. WOOD, Esq., aged 70, formerly of Cockermouth. In Nelson-square, London, on the 17th ult., in his 70th year, Wm. PENN, Esq., great grandson of the celebrated William PENN, founder of Pennsylvania. At Chatham, on the 29th ult., Mrs. NEWELL, youngest daughter of the late Thomas RELPH, Esq., of Wigton. At Edinburgh, in Albyn-place, on the 25th ult., Sir Charles GORDON, the well-known and higly [sic] respected secretary of the Highland and Agricultural Society. Sir Charles was in his 53rd year, and had held the important situation of secretary of the Higland [sic] Society for upwards of 20 years; he received the honour of knighthood from William IV. At Thorpe, near Royton, on the 22d ult., aged 89 years, Mr. John ASHWORTH, fustian weaver, who was scarcely ever known to have had a day's illness during the longcourse [sic] of his life. At the North Shore, Sydney, Australia on the 16th May, aged 37, Mr. James TEGG, third son of Mr. TEGG, of Cheapside, London. At Ely Lodge, in the county of Fermanagh, on the 26th ult., after a short illness, the Marquis of Ely. The deceased nobleman was in his 76th year. He is succeeded in his title and estates by his eldest son, Lord Viscount LOFTUS, M.P. At Simon's-bay, Cape of Good Hope, on the 25th of June, Alan, only son of Rear-Admiral the Hon. Josceline PERCEY, C.B. At Madras, on 2_th August last, of cholera, after seven hours illness, Lieut. Charles DOUGLAS, 2d Madras European Regiment, fourth son of the late Henry Alexander DOUGLAS, Esq., and nephew of the Marquis of Queensberry. On the 3rd ult., David HENDERSON, Esq., of Jersey City, New York. His death was caused by the accidental discharge of a rifle-piece, when on an exploring expedition at some distance n [sic] the country. Mr. HENDERSON was a native of Annandale, and formerly of Glasgow.
