Saturday 22 Feb 1845 (p. 3, col. 6-7) Births. At Hayton Parsonage, on the 18th inst., the wife of the Rev. George TOPPIN, of a daughter. On Thursday, the 30th January last, Mrs. SPENCE, wife of Jas. SPENCE, working tanner in Anstruther, was delivered of four children-two boys and two girls-who, with their mother, are doing well. The parents are poor, but honest and industrious. The family consist of ten, and the weekly earnings of the father only afford twopence daily for each. It has therefore been resolved to open a subscription for their relief.-Edinburgh paper.
