Oxan, Decemb. 9. Wigan in Lancashire, Dec. 5. This Town was startled at the death of a Woman, who was found early in the morning before the dore of a poor Cottage in the high-way, within the Limits of this Corporation; The Major of this Town was very industrious to find the cause of it, and upon due examination of three Persons that came with her into the Town from Ireland, and many notorious circumstances, it appeared that she was clear of any Infection, and that being with Child, to avoid the shame among her Friends who are of good Fashion, and live not many miles from this place, she destroy'd her self by poyson.
