I have been told that the records for St Margaret's Church are in The Registers for the Chapelry of Staveley are at Kendal Record Office. An indexed transcript is also available in the search room there. This transcript has not been published and is therefore not available anywhere else. A kind gentleman, on another List, furnished this information. I've been told that Staveley is now in Cumbria, but the records for this church are still in Kendal. My ancestor, 4x grtgrandmother, Elizabeth ATKINGSON - aka 'Betsy', baptised, or born, on January 11, 1756. Possibly, her brother, John ATKINSON (Rev.), As well, but not sure when he was born. Would like to have birth and baptism dates for her and siblings and parents, if possible. May have been other siblings. Is there sks that would be willing to look for my ancestors, listed above? I would repay any reasonable costs incurred for copy and postage, if needed. A trip, from half way around the world(Seattle, WA) from Kendal, is way beyond my retirement budget and income. Any and all help would be gratefully appreciated.
