    3. Theres a mention of High Beast Banks on http://www.kendalwiki.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Greenside (hadn't seen that site before), it is at the top of Beast Banks. The triangular grass area is annotated as High Beast Banks on a 1911 map I have. I would expect the Ring of Bells Yard to be right next to the pub. An 1861 just shows "old vicarage" behind the pub. The yard may have run sideways to some properties behind Kirkland (now the parish church car park). The top end of Jennings Yard still exists, next to the (closed down) Kendal Bowman pub. I can email a photo of the entranceway (with sign over) if you want. The yard originally ran all the way down to the river (the footbridge was Jennings Yard Bridge on the old map), including the area that Jennings Terrace is now built on. There is only a single row of houses between Sedbergh Road and the railway line opposite Sawmill lane. They look a bit back to front, so what looks like the back of the houses faces the road.
