Lynne In the 1901 Census Alfred is there aged 35, he was born in Harlow Essex and his wife Alice aged 35 was born in Carnforth Lancashire. But there are no children listed in this census. It is possible that in 1891 Alfred was living in 23 New Street, Lancaster as there is a person of the correct age born Audley End Essex, who is a Railway Clerk in lodgings, in the same house and daughter of the head is Alice Burtle aged 25 is listed and was born in Carnforth, perhaps this is the girl he married. It would appear they married in the June Quarter of 1896 in Kendal.
