Lynne Kendal was I think part of the London & North Western Railway up to the 1920's, they have some information on their website ( http://www.lnwrs.org.uk/ ) but no staff member with the name of Alfred Kent, though there are some other Kent's. It could be a matter of looking through trade directories for the years concerned to see how long he was stationmaster. There are railway records around in various archives, but they are by no means complete.
