    3. CENSUS. It was a "dead 'un" - one that had been improperly filled up. But surely these should be destroyed and not kept by the enumerators for the amusement of visitors and friends. People are writing to the papers to say that at whole blocks of buildings, there were no papers left; at other places they were not called for; and in many cases they were neither left nor called for. The most successful of the enumerators were the clergymen, who with praiseworthy public spirit, volunteered to do the work in their own parishes.
