AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. Probably the farming community will not be surprised to learn that the Cumberland and Westmorland Agricultural Society is once more in the unenviable position of being burthened with financial difficulties of a somewhat serious nature. It fell to the lot of the secretary last Tuesday to unfold a "budget" of a most unsatisfactory character, showing, as it did, that whilst the balance in the bank was only £70, there were liabilities amounting to £150, and that sum may probably be exceeded if all claims upon the society's funds are duly put forward. .....Penrith Observer.....
