Hi everyone, I have a brick wall which has been facing me for years and I wondered if anybody could help me please? My Great x 3 Grandmother was an Isabella RITSON who married Thomas THECKSTON in Kendal on 21/10/1822. She was born circa 1801 but I have no idea where, as she died before the 1851 Census. In 1841 she was living in Manchester and it stated that she was born outside Lancashire. Recently I came across a Jane RITSON, born circa 1761 in Firbank, who was living with her Grandson in 1851 a Joseph THECKSTON, Isabella's son! Jane was a widow so obviously I have no way of discovering her maiden name or husband's first name. I couldn't find Jane on the 1841 Census. Therefore all I have to go on is that Isabella's mother was called Jane and was born in Firbank. Does anybody have access to the Parish Registers for this area who could look up whether Isabella was baptised there, or whether a RITSON married a Jane there? I would be ever so grateful!!!
