I have done some research on Rowland Taylor of Espford - trying to link him with Thomas Taylor (c1749-1824) of Beathwaite Green, who married Agnes Addison at Heversham in 1772. On Googling "Crosted Westmorland" the National Archives has: ARCHIBALD FAMILY OF RUSLAND Administrative history: The Rusland estate was founded in the 16th century by a cadet branch of the Rawlinsons of Graythwaite whose descendant sold it in 1762 to Thomas Walker whose grand-daughter carried it in 1832 to her husband Charles Dickson Archibald, of a Nova Scotia family.
