Andrelee It is rather strange, the records for Bampton appear to have been transcribed to the IGI and there are several records for 1819-1821 which would seem to suggest they are complete, but you can never be sure. The source is the Bishops Transcripts for that period and there are copies of that in the Kendal Records Office. Whether they would reveal any more information I do not know. It is also strange that he does not appear in any census prior to the 1871 in any county nor in the 1881 though he could have deceased by then. Yes John was supposedly born in Bampton around 1820 and her father was called William. But on family search website I can find their marriage 1844 in Appleby but I cannot fine his birth anywhere. I can find Margaret's birth documented but not John's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. They did have lots of children Thanks Andrelee
