PERCY WYNDHAM, the Conservative member for West Cumberland, having intimated his intention of resigning, a meeting of the Conservative party was held at Whitehaven yesterday, MAJOR GREEN THOMPSON of Bridekirk in the chair, when it was unanimously decided that MR. J. W. LOWTHER, barrister son of the HON W. LOWTHER, member for Westmorland, and MR. JONAS LINDOW BURNS LINDOW of Irton Hall, be the Conservative candidates at the next election for West Cumberland.
