    3. Hi Cath, My wife has on her mother's side a Dorothy WOOF b abt 1833 Firbank, Westmoreland marrying a John ASKEW b 1824 in Stainton on 1 Jan 1853 in Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmoreland.     3. Hi David I have some Woof's from Westmorland and around Sedbergh in Yorkshire, but most of an earlier time frame. My main connection with Eleanor Woof married Thomas Herd in 1805 in Sedbergh.     3. To join in the trail of the WOOF's in Westmorland..... my g.g.g.grandmother was Ruth Woof, bn New Hutton,/bpt. Kendal 1803, she was the daughter of Thomas Woof and Ruth ??? (as yet I haven't found their marriage) Anyone got more info on this family ??? Sheila, Fife.
