Hello, I was wondering if anyone has investigated John BETHAM of Little Strickland who baptised his children at Morland: he was of Little Strickland and of Thrymby Grange according to the baptism records of his children (Thank you Barb for transcribing these!) I believe his daughter Ann BETHAM bp 24 Apr 1728 at Morland married William POTTER of Orton. Also I have just noticed that his son Richard bp 10 May 1722 was probably the father of Elizabeth BETHAM who married Captain William BLIGH ( of the Bounty fame). Has anyone traced this line of BETHAMs? I haven't found a wife for John BETHAM and don't have any family wills to prove or disprove the family connections. Karen Lyon, France
Karen Only remotely, if it is the same family, Francis Bethom married Richard Allon 14th Aug 1629 in Morland. Way off to one side of my tree (Maybe!). Do you have the extract of the Morland Registers? Hello John, I have the transcripts of BMB from Morland as posted by Barb but nothing more. I haven't managed to get as far back as you on this BETHAM family. John: Here is the link to the Morland Parish Registers 1538 - 1742. I did NOT do the original transcription of these registers; what I did is purchase the already printed transcription, which was done by an unknown transcriber, and published in (I think) 1957 in a book form. So, a transciption of a transcription, if you will. http://www.cumberlandarchives.co.uk/ Just click on the Morland Parish Registers on the left side of the page. Barb, Ontario, Canada.
