Hi Pauline, Thank you for your two replies. The 1841 Census that you quote is the correct one. Also, I am aware of the 1802 marriage on the website. I found the September 1838 death on FreeBMD a few years ago and sent for the death certificate but this turned out to be a Thomas Dent, Stone Cutter, from Hutton Roof - so not the right one ! Agree it doesn't show her marital status. Son William has the same occupation Linsey Weaver. Hello Derek Just stating the obvious I know but do you have a marriage cert. for William (20 in the 1841 census) does he say his father is deceased ? It could narrow it down a bit. Also have you spotted on the 1851 census a John Dent born Kendal of the right sort of age a step son of a Thomas and Elizabeth Dodgson family living Sedbergh or have you found him in the 1851 ?
