I wonder if this is the Thomas Hodgson who m. Sarah Atkinson. IGI lists them; Hodgson, Thomas, m. 28 Apr 1821 Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmoreland, England to Sarah Atkinson. in 1834 she arrives in New York with children, but no Thomas. the family story is that they were to come to America as a family, but he left her waiting on the docks. so she left with the children. I don't know if they were ever in contact with each other again. Sarah is a great, great, grand aunt of mine, sister of my 3x great grandmother, Elizabeth Atkinson.
