The reasons for this hope are that no European has seen any native who witnessed LIVINGSTONE's death; that it is hardly credible LIVINGSTONE could have reached the spot where he is said to have died; that he had stores sufficient for eight months; that the present is almost a repetition of the report circulated twelve years ago about another African traveller; and that at the Foreign Office the report is not yet believed.
