THE PRESTON GUARDIAN, Sat. March 24, 1849. TEMPERANCE LECTURE. On Monday and Tuesday evenings last, MRS. JACKSON, of Wakefield ( formerly of Whitehaven ), gave two excellent lectures on teetotalism, in the Temperance Hall; The REV. SAMUEL LAMBRICK occupied the chair on Monday evening, and the REV. T. JOBLING on Tuesday evening. The attendance on both evenings was large and respectable, and a few good impressions appeared to be made on the minds of those present. MRS. JACKSON also preached an excellent sermon in the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Saul-street, on Sunday afternoon last; the chapel on this occasion was crowded, many stood in the aisle and on the stairs during the service.
